In the book, The Candymakers, by Wendy Mass, four kids are chosen to compete in a national candy making competition. The book gives each of their perspectives on the event. The first perspective comes from Logan, the candymaker’s son. Then it goes on to Miles, then Daisy, and finally Philip. The four kids are given a tour of the candy factory to help them learn more about the candy making process and to prepare them for the competition. From the start, Logan is confident about the way around the factory, but feels the urge to prove himself. Miles is a kid who always carries around a backpack, Daisy is a happy girl who wears bright fun colors, and Philip is very serious and is always taking notes in his notebook. But they are not all as they seem. Each character has their own motive for being there. But as the story goes on, some of their motives change. They unveil secrets about themselves.
